Go though the demo and the opening FMV sequence will appear again. Go though that and go though the part where PaRappa writes his name and wait again. Instead instead of them showing a demo, the colorful noodles will appear on the sides of the screen and the song will start playing.

Beat the game three times, and each time you will unlock a different color hat in this order: blue, pink, and yellow*. Each time you beat the game it becomes slightly harder too.
*Using the right analog stick at the press start menu, the hat color will change, but not the difficulty.

The game places Parappa's neightborhood at the same time of day indicated by the PlayStation2's time setting. For example, if you set the Playstation2's time to 11:30 a.m., it will be bright and sunny in the game. If it is 7:00 p.m., it would be sunset. If you set the time to 10:30 p.m. it will be dark outside.

Bonus Stage

To unlock a bonus stage after any regular stage, finish the stage with a good score (near 1,000 points). You will be brought to Chop Chop Master Onion Head who gives you a fun, yet somewhat repetitious bonus game between the end of the stage you just finished and returning to the stage selection map.

Unlock Songs for Record House

When you first beat the game using the yellow hat, you will unlock the record house. Usually, when you first get there, you'll have one track unlocked.
To unlock more tracks for teh record house, play the stage you want to unlock a track for(E.g Stage one) Play until you have a cool ranking, and you'll get to freestyle. Pass the freestyle(Usually by getting 1000-3000 points) and you'll get an alternative ending to that stage.
You'll also discover that the stage now has a crown over it. This crown means you've gotten a cool rating, and you have unlocked the stage song in the record shop.
