An open-ended kart-like airplane racer with a strong focus on humor, Freaky Flyers features over 13 different characters, 9 stages ranging from exotic islands to roaring Chicago, and varying game modes. Midway describes Freaky Flyers as a "flying/racing/adventure game" due to its story-focused single-player mode. Players attempt to win races and beat a variety of mini-games to progress through the story-driven adventure mode. More than 90 minutes of cinematics follow each character's storyline as it unfolds in a movie-quality presentation.
